When I paint, I draw from experiences with friends, emotions while I listen to music, and memories that feel special or cinematic. I normally use vibrant colors to express my emotions, and my paintings are driven more by feeling than perfection.
My paintings are normally a representation of how a moment felt in combination with my memories of the image, not necessarily trying to capture the exact proportions or represent details with total faithfulness.
I use painting as a kind of personal therapy. I see it as a way to express my emotions, and to generate opportunities for introspection. I find that painting and drawing are more helpful to me than writing down my feelings in words. Images and color capture what feels forced with words.Â
